Emery did tell CLC that he does support conscience rights for medical practitioners to not have to commit nor refer for procedures they find morally objectionable. Emery was also known as “the king of pot”, and spearheaded the efforts to decriminalize marijuana, a dangerous and highly addictive gateway drug that, for many people, leads to harder drugs like crack, cocaine, heroin and crystal meth.
