Official party policy is pro-abortion and pro-LGBT ideology. In fact, Trudeau's current candidate selection process, instituted May 7, 2014, forbids any pro-life Canadians from running as Liberal Party candidates. The only way they would be allowed to run, is if they promise to vote in favour of abortion whenever such legislation comes up.

Prior to being electe as a Liberal MP in the September 2021 Federal election, Chahal was one of the members of Calgary City Council who, on On May 25, 2020, voted to pass a tyrannical by-law banning so-called "conversion therapy", thereby robbing Calgarians of their human right to freely seek therapy and council to overcome unwanted homoerotic and transsexualist fixations. The bylaw bans psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, priests and pastors from providing counselling support to patients who request assistance with unwanted same-sex attraction and gender identity confusion. The ban will inevitably lead to the de-facto criminalization of key Christian teachings on human sexuality, predictably including public prayer and evangelization to call homosexuals out of a sinful lifestyle.
