Side-by-Side Candidate Comparison in the Riding of Cariboo - Prince George

Rating Comments

In June 2021, this MP rightly voted in favour of pro-life Bill C-233, introduced by Conservative MP Cathay Wagantall, to outlaw the horrific practice of sex-selective abortion, in which unborn babies are killed for no other reason than their sex.

MP Doherty has a strong pro-life voting record as a Member of Parliament, but with exceptions (see Votes tab).

CLC was disappointed to see this stalwart pro-life MP endorse the pro-abortion, 2020 Conservative Leadership candidate Peter MacKay, especially when there were two strong pro-life candidates in the race, MP Derek Sloan and Dr. Leslyn Lewis, behind whom all pro-lifers needed to rally.

While most of Jake's answers to CLC's 2025 federal election questionnaire were solidly pro-life, he maintains an exception that would allow the killing of unborn babies who had the misfortune of being conceived in rape.
